More on the transfer of Office 2K to my wife's
computer. She has
Office2K Professional without SR-1. I downloaded the
SR-1 update and
have it on disk. I then installed about 8 or more
patches from the
update page at Microsoft. I can't see a way to
download those files so
I can save all this stuff to CD in case I need to
reinstall. I don't
think they will leave the 2K support files for long as
further
encouragement to upgrade to XP. Anyone know how to
get all of the
patches to save to disk, preferably in one shot?

Thanks.........Peter

To find the updates, go to

     http://microsoft.com/office/downloads/default.asp

This link takes you to the Office Downloads page.
Look for the
"New Security Updates for Word and Excel Users" link.
Click on
this link and you'll go to Microsoft's Product Updates
page, which
can automatically detect what Office product you're
using and
install the updates for you.

You may, however, wish to download the update files
individually
(to put them on CD for future use or to share with
co-workers, for
example). To do that, click on the individual links
within the
"New Security Updates" text on the Office Downloads
page. Taking
this route will also point you to a page that, in
turn, contains
pointers to the KnowledgeBase articles about the
security holes.
(Look for the "Issues Fixed by the Update" section in
the middle
of the page.)
