[mso] Re: OL2K and Word2K

I only use plain text for email, but I have full spelling checks
available - so that's not a reason to use Word as your email editor. ;-)

A very elegant reply Miss Linda. I love this mailing list!.

I am afraid you're overlooking the "Literarily Challenged".

I have a severe phobia of people finding out I can't spell
anything past a 5-letter word. I'm sure the others have a
half-decent spell checker, but I simply like the ease of use
that MS Word gives you.

Then... how about when you're actually composing the
message. Is it Times New Roman? Or I forgot maybe it's
Courier New or something...... YUCK,,, I can hardly stand
to LOOK at it,, much less to type it or read it.

Plain text is the "in thing" with the hipsters and dweebish-types,
but I think it's only because they're afraid of looking like AOL =3D
Warriors.

80% of Email sent from "this" machine is HTML. I'd have a hell of
a time switching back and forth.

I'm LOCKED IN... can't get out... LOL

I seem to remember a similar thread a few months ago... LOL

Yeah...I thought Jim's reply was a tad harsh too, Charles.

Obviously you can do what you want. I would not consider Outlook an
"inept" email program as Jim insinuates.

But...the point is....if you use plain text, all of the functions you
like in Word don't work in email anyway...and that's why I asked why you
would want to use it. I can certainly see using Word as your email
editor if you want to use html mail to create a newsletter or brochure
or something, but to use it for plain text just seems like wasting
resources (but that is strictly my opinion)
