[mso] Re: OFFICE 2003 Error

OK all this is just FWIW  to all you people who helped me or tried to help me!

I kept after it with a open mind and common sense after talking with Microsoft
hours and then being told to update it and it will be Ok  Which did not help I
tried to keep a open mind enough to say its not Office 2003 its some where else.

It was some where else.  I Bought a New Epson Printer that print directly to the
DVD for my desktop computer and install it in this lap-top as a network 
printer..
PROBLEM   Those drivers  caused it all. <grin>  Easy Fix. Don't need it anyway,

Now I can leave in the morning and take what I should!!

Well what ever it is I can not find the problem,

I notice it grabs the cursor when Word opens also? 

I uninstalled it! Again  
I went through the registry and deleted out Office best I could
As the old cleaner  don't work with XP <grin>
Still same way  so here I sit! I guess I'll load Star next week and try it if it
works it will go on my trip If Not I will steal some ones lap-top for a few 
days,
I can do that you know as they are all mine! <grin>
Oh Also I run the Windows SFC  and all the files show good and are there ?? 
Anyone have any ideas  now where I should look?

Gene try uninstalling it and then reinstall but don't install SP3 - see if
that helps. I had a similar problem and I resolved it by not installing SP3.
I never did track down what in the service pack was causing the issue. I
only had the problem on 1 Toshiba notebook of 4 identical systems, the other
3 were just fine.

I really appreciate  the comments Dave S  But It's a new run and it has had
the
normal deleted a couple times?? It Will build another as it starts!! With
Default!
Its had the installation Repair run several times but its also hung when it
runs
so maybe it runs maybe not it never asks for the disc.  No Plug-Ins are
running No
macros are running, Again it's a new install with Sp3 update.

Its hard to do much as it freezes?? Quits and then you can't do much  so you
have
to work around a bit!!

It might be something that Word's loading.

Archive and delete the active Normal.DOT.  It might possibly be corrupt.  (I

don't know if you can get away without one at all.  If not, there's probably

an old copy lurking somewhere.)

Also, are you running any plug-in's?  If so, they might be worth finding and

deleting.

Otherwise, sounds like you need to do an installation repair.
