Try this:

=3DB3*(IF(DATEDIF(C3,"12/31/2008","m")>12,12,DATEDIF(C3,"12/31/2008","m")=
)
)
Where B3 is the cell with the rate in it, and C3 is the cell with the
start date in it.  You could also make the year end date a cell
reference so you couls reuse this sheet by just changing the one date
next year.

I am trying to set up a formula to calculate annual costs for 2008 based
on billed rate and number of months in year depending on the bill start
date.  Example:

Billed Rate         Billing Start Date            Annual Cost

Jim       31.25                    3/12/2003                 =3Dbilled
rate*12 (since prior to 1/1/2008)

Joe       31.50                    4/1/2008                   =3Dbilled
rate*9 (since after 1/1/2008)      =20

=20

How do I set up a formula that knows the number of months left in the
year if not a full year or knows it will be 12 months since starting
billing prior to 1/1/2008? =20

Please help, I have tried several formulas and it is not working.
