Hi,
To start with, the names on that piece of paper have to be written to
a sheet somewhere. This is nessesary or you may as well forget any
automation.
Conditional formatting may be appropriate for the supervisor names in
column A but with the deleting of cells I'm not sure that will work...
If I have a conditionally formatted cell and delete cells above and
below it does it retain its' conditional formatting.. I'll experiment
with that but maybe Ray can jump in here.
From all of these posts I think that there is actually nothing in
column B at all. Is this correct?

Do you mean something like this...
