[mso] Re: New member / Word question

Hi Dan

Is there any particular reason why you are doing this in Word? If you are
able to use Excel it will be much easier to operate.

However, whichever program you use, there is a symbol which shows up on
the Table toolbar that looks like a jagged edge E ( ? ) - somebody else
should jump in here and say what the Greek name is please!!!

In Word, if you select the bottom cell of the column or row you are trying
to tally up, then click this ? symbol it should put automatically enter
the total into that blank cell.

In Excel you need to select the column or row and one blank cell at the
bottom/end and click the ? symbol to achieve the same effect.

Hope that helps you. But I would try Excel if it were me.

Anne

Subject: [mso] New member / Word question

Hello,

Dan here. I've created a simple table in a Word file with 3 columns and
60+
rows. The last column is where numbers will be entered which I need to
tally on a daily basis. I was wondering if there is a way I can set the
table up
to auto-tally numbers I have entered in specific cells to keep a running
tally.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Dan N.
