And YES...that's EXACTLY what I just set in 2003 and it worked just as you
said. In fact, I had to turn it off to get back this message of yours cos'
it was unbolded and marked as read. So when I unchecked the unread
filter...so I could get back your message to reply!
I clicked View/Arrange By/Custom/Filter/More Choices and checked "only items
that are unread" and yours disappeared.

That isn't it. I have the unread messages view already. Try this... In an
unread msg view, mark one of the messages as read. It changes from bold to
normal font. In Outlook 10, marking a message read in an unread view made
the message disappear from the view. It was very easy to zip through
messages with only "realtime" unread messages visible.
Hard to put into words... Do you get it?
