[mso] Re: Mouse scroll wheel changing action in Word 2003

Standard behavior is for the doc to scroll horizontally if you move the
wheel while your pointer is over the horizontal scroll bar in the Word
window.

Subject: [mso] Mouse scroll wheel changing action in Word 2003

Hi,

I'm working in Word 2003 on a Windows XP machine. Virtually all of the
time when I use the scroll wheel on my mouse to move through my Word
doc, it scrolls vertically through the doc. But a couple of times for a
reason unknown to me, all of a sudden when I try to scroll with the
mouse wheel, it scrolls horizontally in the Word doc. I'm certain I've
clicked something without realizing it to cause this change of behavior,
but have no idea what it might be. If I close the Word doc and re-open
it, it once again scrolls vertically like I want it to. Another
observation is that this horizontal scrolling seems to be limited just
to the particular document I'm working in...if I have 2 or more Word
docs open at a time, this change in mouse action is not across the
board. If I switch to another document while the one is scrolling
horizontally, the others still scroll vertically.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Diane
