That is the same problem I had about a year ago. I created a new user
accountand that fixed it.

The research I did on this points to it being a corrupt user profile....are
you using Windows XP by any chance? If so, I find user profiles get corrupt
all the time. Here's a thread I saw in the Experts Exchange and it looks
like the suggestion to create a new user account fixed the problem:

Subject: [mso] Microsoft Office XP
Hello - I am new to the group and have a question. I keep getting a pop up
regarding Microsoft word which says " Microsoft word has not been installed
for the current user - Please run set up to install the application" I have
uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office several times and it doesn't
cure the problem. I have two users on my computer word works for one but
stopped working on the other so now I have to access the word files by going
to the other user. Has anyone run across this before. Thanks so much.
