[mso] Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 Error 1406

I have been trying to install Microsoft Office onto my HP desktop but keep 
getting the following error:
"Error 1406. Setup cannot write the value to the registry key\ Software\ 
Clases\.odc   Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the 
registry or contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance. 

Can anyone help me with this error? What do I need to do? Any assistance is 
greatly appreciated.
