Yes, try creating different styles for each type. Like i, ii, would be
NumLower, I, II...NumUpper, 2, 3, NumArabic or some such system. 

To be honest with you...I can't remember right now how I've done it in
the past...it's been awhile. But I used to do it all the time in
Word...years ago with tons of books, manuals, etc. 

Sorry I don't have time to mess with it right now. But if you can't get
it right after messing with it, yell back and I'll try to make some
time.

I'm doing it from Rd fields  I guess I need to learn how to set the
numbering Style?  The numbers all print OK  When the pages are printed!

How are you doing it? With individual sub docs and RD fields? If
so...each chapter should be set to the numbering style at the beginning
and it will pick up that info in the RD fields. I've done it. Clarify
how you're doing it and maybe I can see where things are messing up.
