Hi Bill,

The way that I usually do my envelopes is as follows:

1. Set up the envelope word to suit what you want for the envelope .
2. Make your data file - I generally use an excel file which can be made
either by exporting from Outlook or manually. Save this in the 'My data
file'
3. go to the mailings tab and opt for start mail merge - letter
4. Now click on select recipients and opt for use existing list. This should
open at the my data file but if not you can go to that and select the excel
file.
5. Once selected you can then click on insert merge field and put in the
data which will be shown in the list.
6. I generally then click finish and merge and opt for the edit individual
documents to emable me to see that the envelopes will be correct. Once happy
these can then be printed onto the envelopes.

I have found this way is more flexible as I can use different templates and
change the envelope to suit my requirements and then use selected data from
the excel file. You can also set up different data lists within the same
spreadsheet to be used for merged emails letters and other items, once it is
set up it is very flexible.

Hope that this is helpful.

Subject: [mso] Mail Merging Envelopes in Word 2010

I am trying to set up a mail merge to print a set of envelopes in Word 2010,
using the mail merge wizard. Everything is fine except that the recipients'
names and addresses (in an Excel 2010 worksheet) appear in the return
address position instead of the delivery address position even though I have
not set up a return address! I watched an online video from lynda.com that
dealt with mail merging to envelopes and followed the steps in that (it
didn't use the wizard) but the result is exactly the same - the delivery
(i.e. recipients) names and addresses all print in the return address
position! I'd appreciate help with resolving this!
Thanks

Bill Hunt.
