Have you tried doing a find/replace and using the special option, then
choosing paragraph mark twice (or manual line break, depending on how the
blank spaces were created), and replacing either with one paragraph mark or
none, depending on how many blank lines. Don't know how large your
document is but I use the find/replace special feature as the first step
when I'm cleaning up things like that. You can replace all or replace one
at a time if you want to manually check them out first. I usually do them
manually for several instances till I'm sure it's what I want, then just
replace all. If I'm not sure I make a back up of the document.

hth, Cathy

Hi,
I have a document where I want to shape up the formatting - I admit I was
sloppy. One of the things to do will be to get rid of all blank lines, but
if I can belp it, I don't want to browse the document and delete them
manually. Do you know if there is a macro for doing it?

TIA
 Svend
