I have Microsoft 2002 my mom who is having the problem has a older =
version I am guessing a 1998 or so version of Word. I am not sure of the =
other friend how old his is but I would guess it's fairly new as his =
computer is about 1 year old and he uses all his equipment for his tax =
service.

However they want to do what I do type and not have each line of the =
typed letter change to capital letters mine doesn't do this, if I am =
correct in you are saying after I hit "." and space bar - Word will =
capitalize - yes mine does this - and so does my mom's But, her =
problem, when she is typing a letter and continues on to the next line =
when it goes to the NEW line then the first word of that line is =
capitalized. Maybe the wrap feature?=20

I am sure I am not explaining it clearly, I thought that maybe they both =
having used old manual typewriters for years might be hitting the =
enter/return key - I am not sure if you ever used a manual or electric =
typewriter but when we did we had to hit the return key or the bar to =
start a new line of our typing.. of course that was years ago, thee was =
even a return "thingie"( call recall the name of it ) that you had to =
hit to make it go to the new line on a manual typewriter... I figured =
they might be doing that with the return key... but since I haven't seen =
her type I can't be sure if this is what she is doing she said she just =
keeps typing and it automatically goes to the next line and when it does =
it capitalizes that new line. but if she is not hitting the period and =
not hitting the space other than spacing the words like we all do, then =
how is it making the first letter of each new line a capital. Does this =
make any sense at all or have I rambled so much you lost my train of =
thought.=20

Hitting the Enter key is NOT necessary if that feature is turned on. If
yours isn't capitalizing when you hit the space key AFTER a period,
SandyLea, then it's YOURS that is working incorrectly and not theirs. =
The
option says to captalize the first letter of a sentence. Typing a =
period
then hitting a space designates the beginning of a new sentence, not =
hitting
the Enter key...that designates the beginning of a new paragraph.

Are you both using the same version of Word? The proper spacing for
documents now is one space at the end of a sentence, however it used to =
be
TWO spaces, so if you have an older version, maybe you don't see the =
caps
until you hit the spacebar two times. But, in the newer versions, =
hitting
the space key one time after a period causes the first letter of the =
next
word you type to be capitalized.=20
