Shishir,

Access is actually ideal for this type of application provided you do it
right and only have about 15 - 20 users max using it at a time. What you
want to do is create all of the data tables in a separate database that is
on the networked drive. Then link to that from a front end database that
has all of your forms and code. Each user gets their own copy of the front
end.

If you need more guidance just post your problems here. There is usually
someone who can help you out.

James

Hi all,

I am in the process of designing a simple document tracking system for my
company. We are a Financial services company and need to track work done by
accounting clerks on various scanned documents sent to them.

My current solution design is based around MS Excel. However for several
reasons including security, this is not scalable. One of my managers has
suggested using MS Access. However, I am not sure if an Access table can be
used by multiple users for concurrent updates if it is saved on a shared
network drive. I tried doing that and could not get it right.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Shishir
