P.S. to my previous note. 
I also tested the =DLOOKUP() parameters using a dot instead of an exclamation 
point ...

e.g., =DLOOKUP("name", "[Table C]", "[table A].[initials]=[table C].[initials]")

There's still no joy in Mudville.
