Hi James,

  Many thanks for the info.

$600 I might can swallow. $1,600?. definitely NOT.

So in other words, the EXE won?t look at ?back end? tables in an
MDB? Are you saying that the whole show has to be in the inside of
the EXE? That doesn?t sound so practical to me. How about if only
the front end was the EXE?

Here?s the deal. I spent about 6 months writing a Stable
Management Program for racehorse trainers. There are a few copies
of the program already in use for about a year, and I *think* <as
god laughs> all the bugs have been discovered. I am trying to
further market this item, and I have 2 famous race trainers taking
a closer look at it. One guy told the other that it would be
better if the database were stand-alone and didn?t need Access to
run under. So now, the second guy agrees (darn it). I have to
overcome this hurdle because once the word gets around that these
two famous guys are running my program to manage their stables; I?
ll be on easy street. Problem is? these guys are ?only looking?
right now. I?d hate to spend the $600, and then have to eat it. On
the other hand, the EXE might be the deal clincher. Since I am in
the racehorse business, naturally I am a gambling man, so I think
I might take a shot.

What do you have to say about this? I usually write in Access 97,
then if need be, I bring it up to Access 2k. No problem. Anthony
tells me I might can find the Dev. Kit for sale on Ebay. Maybe I
can find the 97 version for cheap. If so, do you see any reason
why I can?t use the 97 version verses the 2K version. I don?t see
why there would be any difference at all.

Ok thanks in advance for any further thoughts.

And YES? ?War Emblem? WILL win the Belmont stakes in 3 weeks. He?
ll be the first Triple Crown winner in 32 years, and YES of course
the Saudi Prince who owns him will go back to his country with the
6 Million bonus that the Visa Credit Card people are offering. All
this is a MERE PITTANCE compared to the additional 400 Million in
stud fees yet to come. The Prince only bought him last month for a
measly 900 grand. They already have all the money we spend for
gasoline, now they?re taking our race purses, and control all our
fast horses. Watch out Bill Gates, hold on to your Windows. Maybe
they?ll come after YOU next. Oil vs Software,, who will win? LOL
