You need to put it in your default template dir...which on a WinXP
system is under c:\Documents and Settings\[userName]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates.
However, you should click Tools/Options/File Locations to check that
that is STILL your path for templates.
Also, you can download Greg's Free Word Options Utility from
www.mousetrax.com/downloads.htm. Download it, unzip it and open the Word
version you need (i.e., 2000 or XP...2000 in your case) and it'll show
you all the option settings you have AND all the operating path
locations.
Also...the Application Data folder is hidden by default, so you may have
to set the proper view in WinExplorer first to find things.

Where are the various Word templates stored in Word 2000? I created a
new template and want it to display as an option when the user selects
"File | New" in Word 2000 on Windows XP...where should I save the
template?
Thanks.
Diane
