As for line spacing...here are two things you can do.

First, save formatting time by just hitting Ctrl + A to select all text =
and
hit Ctrl + 1 (on the alpha numeric keys NOT the keypad) and it'll all =
turn
to single spacing.=20

To reset your default, you can hit the Paragraph launcher button on the
bottom/right corner of the Paragraph group of the Home tab on the =
ribbon.
There you can set the line spacing to single...and then make sure you =
click
the DEFAULT button at the bottom of that dialog. That'll reset your =
default
to single so it doesn't change on you.

Finally, when you paste, you should see a tiny helper icon at the end of =
the
pasted text. If you click that, you'll find the option to KEEP RESOURCE
FORMATTING, which will stop reverse the 1.5 spacing back to the pasted
original formatting of single spaced.=20

Oh...one more "finally"...you can also go into Word options and, under
ADVANCED, you can set the default you want for pasting, i.e., change it =
to
always keep the source formatting.=20

Yes, I too  have noticed that the keyboard shortcuts I am used to have =
not
worked in Office 2007;  I am using XP.  I also still cannot figure out =
how
Office 2007 pre-formats Word documents such that when copying and =
pasting a
single spaced document, it always becomes a double spaced document,
requiring me to re-format and wast a lot of time.
