[mso] Inquiry: Microsoft Help Authoring Kit

Hello. I am about ready to start writing Help for an Excel 2000 program I
wrote. I found something called Microsoft Help Authoring kit which requires
Office to work. From what I am reading, you can write help two ways: One,
"Hover Help" where hints pop up depending on where the mouse rests, and two,
a bona fide actual help & instruction file where the user can search
keywords, find instructions on how to use, etc.

What I read says it is an add-in to office but nowhere I read tells me about
how it works. Does any one know? Is this something I can download/buy and
make a valid help file? The fact it requires Windows NT gives me pause, does
that mean it won't work for a person using one of the XP flavors? Any
information about what it is and whether or not it is what I am looking for
would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you and happy New Year.

Robert
