His OE stuff is not in a pst file....OE doesn't use pst files. In Outlook
go to File>Import and Export and you will see choices to import email
accounts and address books...if you choose those, you will see the OE is an
option.

And, yes, copying your pst is the best way to backup Outlook.

Subject: [mso] Import Outlook Express file to outlook?

I'm helping a colleague upgrade to MS Outlook from MS Outlook Express. Is
there a way he can transfer his directories of old emails and contacts list
from Outlook Express to Outlook? He is using Outlook 2002 and Outlook
Express 5. Does it involve copying the .PST File.

One more quick question. I'm curious to how others are backing up their
Outlook information. I usually copy the .PST file on to a CD. Is there a
better way? I'm using Outlook 2000.

Thank you for any help offered

Susan Odom
