Help files are just that...files. You don't need the app to read the files.
You can even toss a shortcut on your desktop.

Plus, Access doesn't play well with it's siblings...particularly older
version. So you shouldn't install multi versions unless you really need
them. Other office apps play nicer, and yes, you can add multiple versions
of Office if you install into separate dirs. Some "shared" items will be
upgraded and there can be minor conflicts/access delays with files. But
overall it'll work.

However, unless you NEED older version, you'll get better performance if you
just use the version you need. Particularly in the case of older Access
version.

<Copy>
One thing I can tell you, that James LaBorde often says....if you can find a
copy of Access 97, use THOSE help files...for some reason, Microsoft changed
the help files in Access and, according to James, the 97 ones are still way
superior.
<End>

Linda- how I would I access Access Help files in Access 97 without
installing it? Does that mean I should keep two versions of Access on my
computer? Btw, it wouldn't be a problem to have Office 2000 on Computer A
and Office 97 (Access 97) on Computer B.
