Thanks Dian - but I haven't changed anything. Sometimes the IE window opens to
a different size as a result of clicking a hyperlink in, say, an email message.
Even if I resize it manually it doesn't seem to keep my preferred settings for
the next time I open a new window.
As for Word, I ALWAYS resize it to my preferred view size because it irritates
me so much when I can't read the text on the screen!

Maybe I just got a rogue copy :(

Oh well - back to the bifocals.

Thanks again.

Anne

Programs save the last setting you view in an app. So if you open a doc and
it changes, be sure to change it back before you close to keep your
preferred change next time. Same goes for IE...sounds like you set it to
  small last time.

Subject: Word query + related but OT

I have formatted almost all my Word templates to a view size of "page
width". If I open a document somebody else has created (or indeed modified
from my original) the view size may be different. That's fair enough but
often the next time I open one of my templates the view size isn't set to my
default any longer. What do I need to do to override this?

Also, slightly OT, can anybody tell me (off the list if necessary) how to
ensure that if I click on a hyperlink in an email the IE window will open
full screen and not some itsy bitsy tiny little thing I can hardly find on
  my screen!

Many thanks in eager anticipation as ever

  Anne
