[mso] Re: Frontpage query

Here's what we do:

Create an external link warning page. Then modify your
hyperlink:

To use the external link warning page you must customize
your hyperlink (<a href> tag) by calling on the external
link warning page(http://yourdomain.com/external_link.asp),
and passing a URL parameter named link with a value of the
external page's URL. To have the external warning display
in a secondary window, you must add target=3D"_blank" to the
<a href> tag. Here's an example:

<a
href=3D"http://yourdomain.com/external_link.asp?link=3Dhttp://ww
w.company.com/" target=3D"_blank">Company Name Text</a>

When passing URL parameters, please note that a ? follows
the URL address, followed by one or more parameters in the
form parameter_name=3Dparameter_value. When using multiple
URL parameters, you must separate each parameter with the &
character (no spaces).

This will bring up a window with the message, when the user
clicks ok, it takes them to external page.

Hope this helps.

Christine

Subject: [mso] Frontpage query

I hope this will be a quick query! I need to be able to set
up a facility to warn users of our website that they are
leaving our site and that we are not responsible for the
content of external sites to which we offer links. The
links concerned are set to open in new windows - but how do
I make sure I get this warning disclaimer?

I've gotta have it - it's a requirement of our regulator and
it's 4 days to go!

Panic panic!

Anne
