Yup, it does make it difficult.....but there's really no way to isolate
the corrupted part of the tables

Sometimes corruption is removed just by copying everything and pasting
it into a new document.  Did you try that?  Select all and copy
everything into a new document and save it with a new name.  Close it
and open it and see if you still get the corruption error.

I neglected to make clear the fact that the text in this document is NOT
is
a single table.  The text is in many different tables and then there are
traditional tables inserted in THOSE tables.  So without knowing WHICH
table is corrupt makes this difficult.
