If you're mapped to any network drives and the system is having trouble
accessing the network, I think this could cause a problem like this. I
know I've had this problem when our network is down, it seems to need to
test the network drives before opening the first time.=20

Subject: [mso] File Dialog Box problem
Hi Everyone,
=20
A new problem .....
=20
1. Start Word (Word 2002 - part of Office XP Professional group)
2. Select File / Open
3. VERY slow .... Close to 60 seconds before the box appears. State
of
box and content is normal.
4. Then close any directory / file and the response is super fast
as
before.
5. Subsequent File / Open requests are normal (fast ...)
6. Only the FIRST request is slow.
7. I've tried disable of virus and spy ware software - no luck
8. Any ideas? MS Knowledge Base doesn't point to a solution
directly
that I can find.
=20
Cheers,
(-: Dave :-)
