I am pleased to announce that the shortest suggestion - indeed - worked just
perfectly!  I want to thank everyone for their replies - you guys are the
best.  I knew if I threw this out there, one if not everyone would have an
answer for me - Many Many thanks!  By going into Control Panel/Regional
Settings/under Regional Options Tab/select Customize.../ and select the Date
Tab/ and where it shows Date Separator, just change it to a - (dash!)    Is
that not the coolest!!!  Thank you Graham!!

Have you tried looking at the date format in Regional Settings in Control
Panel.

Sorry, I can't give you more details because our IT service doesn't allow us
access to all that stuff - network security reasons!!!

When I am in Word 2003 and select Insert/Date & Time, I no longer find a
format for "dashes".   I can do a 12/19/05 but I cannot find a way to do
12-19-05.  Maybe there's a patch for this?
Any help would be great.
