I never had a response to this (sometimes happens, I know.) Maybe I should
rephrase it:
Can one lock a PowerPoint 2000 presentation against editing?

Subject: [mso] Powerpoint 2000: Making a presentation ineditable
Is there a way of making a PP2K presentation viewable but not editable? It
seems that this is possible in PPXP and in PP2003 but not before.
We would rather not go down the (rather rocky) road of creating an
executable or a Flash presentation - it's too expensive for the purpose.
Basically, what we need to know is how one can Password Protect a PP2K file?
Making a .pps file goes halfway towards solving our problem - it defaults to
just viewing the file and so makes it less likely that anyone will edit it
but, if possible, we want to prevent any change to the file.
