Hmmm...that's a weird one...I use Excel 2003 too and it sure doesn't throw
any brackets into that formula when I use it.  Wonder why that's happening?

Thanks All, think I have it now, am using 2003 excell and it was 
throwing some brackets in there with other references, when I took them 
out and tried it things worked...
