Thanks Linda. 

I had an idea for a formula that could calculate the row number in
which the right data would be in a data collumn.  So that goes out the
window.  In a way I'm glad this is the answer becauase I was spending a
lot of time looking at cell reference syntax thinking that there HAS to
be a way to do this.  Turns out there isn't. 

I'll find another approach.
