[mso] Re: Excel:MOS Certification

Hi Herbert. This has changed somewhat over the years .... when I took my
first certification exams for Office 2000, I could use shortcuts and I also
could use the Help files ... but neither of these things are allowed anymore
(I think this changed with Office 2002 ... or maybe 2003?) ... but, as far
as I know, these are the only restrictions, and yes, you can use any route
to the correct result and your method does not matter. If you try to use
shortcut keys or the help menu, they simply won't work ... it isn't like the
exam software allows you to use them and penalizes you later.

This page at Microsoft's website explains most of it:

Good luck on your exam!!

Subject: [mso] Excel:MOS Certification

Good morning All,

I have a question for those who may have sat any of the MOS exams...In
the exam, does the method that you use to arrive at the solution matter,
or is it just the end result that matters.

The reason for this question is that the practice software at a local
college that I have been using will only award you points for completing
the task using a certain methodology, i.e. will not accept short cut
keys, and for example in excel copy & paste, you can't just right click
and do your copy paste, you have to click edtit--copy on the main tool
bar?

I am a bit confused because I was of the opinion that only the end
result was what was important.

Can anyone help?

Herbert
