Hi Linda

Trouble is the row height is variable throughout the spreadsheet. Doing it
the way you suggest only would work if the row height were standard for
all rows.  Sorry - I should have made it clearer in my original post.

You can go to Format>Cells>Alignment and set a left or right indent in the
Horizontal box to get spacing on either side of the cell

Or, you can drag the row number on the left of the spreadsheet to increase
the height to what you want, then go to Format>Cells>Alignment and set the
Vertical alignment to Center and it will add space above and below the
contents of the cell

I know in Word it is possible to set table properties so that cell
dimensions are set to a minimum and/or cell padding can be specified.  Is
it possible to do the same in an Excel sheet?  Have been hunting like fury
and cannot find it anywhere!
