One quick way is to use filter.
Highlight entire data base, then go to data, filter, auto filter.
Then click on the arrow sign and type *AMEX then enter.
This should retrieve all the cells that contain the word "AMEX".
P.S. If you need to use a real data base, then it might be a good idea to
use Access rather than Excel. Just a suggestion.

hi,
i have this huge database and i need to extract cells that have the word
"AMEX" in it and not anythingelse. I could use the function left but the
problem is the word AMEX is spaced differntly in a cell ...in some cells its
is in the beggning some have it in the middle and end. the databse is around
6000 rows and i need to reduce it to the cells that include AMEX.
I have no idea how to extract it. please help i need it for work :(
