HI Linda,
Yep, I thought by highlighting the cells from my last active cell to the
end of the spreadsheet would have fixed it, but it didn't...lol. That's
when my curiosity got piqued, and I figured there must be a way to do this.
I had already cheated, I had copied what I wanted and already saved the
file under a new filename, which did work. But, as I said, I was curious,
and feel there probably is a way of achieving the resizing of the vertical
scroll bar somehow within the actual program.

Oh...I misunderstood, Eric....if your scroll bar is indicating you have
a huge file and you don't, that means Excel thinks you have something in
a cell waaaaaaaayyyy down.....and you might or might not (Excel
considers a space in a cell as something)
When you hit ctrl+end, where does Excel jump to? If it's a cell that's
way past the end of your actual data, then this is what's happening
Just highlight all the cells from the end of your data up to and
including the cell that Excel sees as the end of your data and go to the
Edit menu and choose Clear>All....if that doesn't fix it, then highlight
your data and copy/paste it into a new workbook and that should fix it

there is a way of "re-setting" the vertical scroll bar.
I simply hate it when the scroll bar indicates a massive file when the
file
is not that large.
