Hi Bill
My point of issue was not so much with Dave as with those of us who post
without identifying which system they are using. Too often (IMHO) questions
are posted which waste a lot of everybody's time because they don't contain
enough info for anybody to be able to help at all in the first instance
without asking for more info. So depending on whether we have the time or
inclination we may spend time exploring a bit to find out whether or not
this might apply to us.
The original question Herbert posted was one which seemed genuinely
interesting. However is it NOT safe to assume that everybody on here has
upgraded to 2007 (as it's easy to assume), indeed some people are still
working on 2000 as we regularly see.
All I was asking was that we are all a bit more expansive in the first
instance in saying what problems we are having, when we post either a
question or a response, so that the rest of us know whether it might be
relevant to our circumstances. I don't think that's a lot to ask, indeed
there have been plenty of reminders to that effect on the list going back a
long time.
This list contains a wide range of skills from super-expert to raw beginners
and I think we can at times forget this.
Regards
Anne
