Ann, with equally due respect, I think it would be impractical for each
response to go into absolute beginner detail whenever a solution is
suggested to member's issue or problem. Personally, if I have a similar
issue, I adapt the solution if I understand it and can implement it. If I
can't, I look in the archives/web site/other resources (more than 10 minutes
is OK!) to learn more about what I do knot know/understand, and failing
that, would simply ask a question via the list, e.g. in this case, "Dave's
solution to Herbert's problem looks like a technique I'd like to use, can
anyone enlighten me as to what a module is and how I insert the code Dave
suggests?"
Please, I am not being facetious. I really do respect the problem you have.
I have similar ones but realise that we are all at different levels of
expertise. I hope you understand.
Regards,
Bill.

With all due respect Dave I have no idea what a module is, I don't use VBA
so what you suggested seemed complete fog to me. It took me a good 10
minutes to search Excel help and try and locate exactly what it was you were
talking about.
I appreciate that there are times when solutions seem obvious to those of us
who offer suggestions to those of us who ask for help, but equally there are
times when some of us need a bit more info please!
Hope you understand.
