You are right.  This works.  I needed some to pull from multiple categories
and so I just summed the sumifs and it worked too.

It seems so simple now, but I was missing it.

  I think sumif will do.

  =SUMIF($A$2:$F$2,A2,$A$7:$F$7)
  Please put this formula in Column A and copy paste it to entire row, and
see u get the  results. I have considered  the range A:F, modify the same
suitably.

Each column is data about an employee. I want to sum the numbers in row 7
for each of the same type employees. So I have cells for each type, but I

I can get it to find the individual salaries, but I can't get it to pick out
all of the counselors an add up those salaries.

I have Linda's Book and so if there is a chapter or topic that I need to
