Go back to that Format cells box and choose "Custom" from the list on the
left, then in the little white box on the right that says "Type:", manually
type in mmddyy. That will do it

Subject: [mso] Excel Date Issue
We have a client that has a spreadsheet with a date column formatted
mm/dd/yy. His main office in Chicago uses a date format of yymmdd with no
slashes in a data base program, not access. He wants to convert his date
format to Chicago's. I tried to change his with the format cells, date
function. There was not a format that would fit his request. I tried using
the number format but it suppresses the leading "0" in the month. I tried
using the text format but when you try to convert, it gives you a funky
date. Is there a way to do this w/o using visual basic? The only way he
sees to do it is to change every date manually. He has several hundred
entries. In my opinion, that is not a viable solution. Suggestions would
be appreciated.
