Search your hard drive for a folder named XLSTART ... Anything that loads
when you start Excel will be in there....try moving everything out of that
folder and see if Excel starts up faster. Also, if you have any addins
loading in Excel, that will slow the startup down also....go to
Tools>Add-Ins and see if anything is checked in there....if it is, uncheck
them and start Excel again and see if it loads faster.

After you've moved everything out of there, you can start adding them back
one at a time and see which ones affect startup the most....the choice will
be yours...do you want startup speed or do you want the features that are
loading on startup.

Oh ... You may have more than one XLSTART folder so check all of them.

Subject: [mso] Excel 2003

I have MS Office 2003 Pro edition. I Have Word,
Outlook, Access, PPoint and Excel installed. I
have a Dell desktop, 2.8 GHz, 1 GHz Ram, 160 GB
HD. The problem I have is that when I try to open
Excel, it akes almost a minut to open it up. Did
the same ting on my old computer. All the other
Office apps open quickly.
Any ideas why it takes so long for Excel to open?

Thanks
