Hi Robert,
Excel has some functions that are limited by available memory, custom
number formatting is one of them. In Excel 97 there was a quite small
limit for formatting (256Kb, if I remember correctly). In Excel 2000
I have never run against those limits, but I don't have worksheets
with over 60.000 values either.
You might try typing this formula in an empty cell in one of the
problem worksheets:
=info("memavail")
And seeing what will it return.
If this a limit inside Excel, reinstalling Office will not solve your
problem, you will have to reduce the size of your worksheets.
