[mso] Re: Excel?

To All,

<<The main advantage Access has for your group is that you can't mis-sort it.

Parker brings up a good point. At our club, the membership info is available
for easy reference on one of our stand-alone computers, but the "official"
copy is maintained on the PC at the home of our Membership chair. She sends a
copy of the complete file including the latest updates to me and to the
president of the club once a month for backup. It would be possible for one of
us to mis-sort an Excel file in a careless moment, but the data could be
restored from one of the other copies. In fact we have even more redundancy
because I keep two complete copies at my home (one on each of two different
PCs).

If I had complete autonomy in this matter, I'd convert to Excel. A slightly
smaller club in our area has used Excel exclusively for at least ten years I
know of.
