You haven't said anything about the size of the club membership or of the
volatility of the membership list.
You haven't said much about the functionality needed, apart from tracking
memberships from application to investiture.
Assuming that this isn't the extent of what's required, then a lot more
information would be needed before anyone could consider alternatives.
For instance, if you have only 1 or 2 members joining at any one time, then
a tracking system is not necessary at all, unless there are lots of steps in
the membership process. If there are potentially hundreds of prospective
members at any one time, then a full-fledged commercial system is probably
needed.
And what happens next? Are there annual fees? Are bills sent for these?
Are payments recorded in this system? What about members' addresses and
change of address? What about members who leave? Are all memberships
equal?
And what technology? Do you want a full GUI system? Are you happy working
in the cells of a spreadsheet? Is it a bit of both? What is "outdated"
about the old system?
You say "scenario". Is this an exercise, or the real thing? If it's an
exercise, then you should be asking the above questions (and many more), not
me. I'll send my bill later. :-)
