Using Excel 2002 and XP. Following instructions in Excel 101 as to how to
reference cells on another sheet to an original sheet. (Linda: pls note) I am
only looking to transfer a number, (is this a formula?), from one to the other.
I can not find any instructions in the Help.
I enter =( in the cell to receive the number; then go to the different sheet;
select the appropriate cell and then hit Enter. Get the marching ants and get
an error message which offers a correction - and the correction is correct.
Is this the way it is supposed to work? I would assume that there is a way
to do it correctly the first time.
