No, what I did exactly was, got another HDD, Installed W2K and other
software I use incl. MS Office 97.  The only thing I copied across were
documents. Thats why I can't figure my problem out.  I must however try
what Dian was saying to me, about deleting all the tmp files associated
with the documents.

Am I reading your post correctly?  You installed W2K as an
upgrade to W98.  Then you did not reinstall any software;
you just copied the alreading installed programs to new
folders.  If this is correct, it seems that it should not be
expected to work.  The programs need to be installed in
W2K.
