Your default email is determined by your settings in Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer and go to the Tools menu, then choose Internet
Options ... click on the Programs tab and make sure Outlook is chosen beside
where it says "email" ... OK your way out of that box, then close Internet
Explorer ... you may have to reboot for it to take effect. Then, open Excel
and try it again.

From Jonathan Drawer
In Excel 2003 under File I have the menu item Send To with the choices of
Mail Recipient, Mail Recipient (for Review), Mail Recipient (as Attachment)
in addition to other choices.
The following is from the Excel Help File:
"To send e-mail from Excel : To send data as an attachment, you need
Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Exchange Client, or
another 32-bit e-mail program compatible with the Messaging Application
Programming Interface (MAPI). Make sure Mapi32.dll is in the Windows System
folder. To send Excel data as the body of a message, you need Outlook 2000
or later."
I tried using Mail Recipient and Mail Recipient (as Attachment) and both
were sent using Outlook Express with the first in the body and the second as
an attachment. I could not find anyplace in Excel for setting the email
program to use, but in Outlook Express under Tools --> Options then on the
General Tab at the bottom is the capability to make OE the default mail
handling program if it is not at the present time. You might check that
setting.
