LaVonne,

I would have thought it would be an o/s issue rather than a Word problem,
but as it's working for me under XP (os) and Word 2003, and I didn't do
anything to turn the feature on, I don't really have any other suggestions.

Sorry! ;-)

:When I do it, it shows only Type/Size/Date. Is there a
     :way to show the
:Title and Author? Using XP with Word 2000
     :Thanks

     :LaVonne,
     :
:I'm using Word 2003 beta under XP, and in the File > Open
     :dialogue,
     :hovering
:the mouse over Word docs DOES show the info you mention
     :(note: this
     :doesn't
:happen in Windows Explorer - only in the File > Open window).
     :
:So, I would suggest that if this is not happening for
     :you, it may be a
     :Word
     :2000 issue.
     :
     :Regards
