Dear MSO group members,
I would like to set up either a macro (keyboard command) or a "calendar
view" which displays in month format (with Sun Mon ... Fri Sat column headings)
the current week plus the next 5 weeks.
The process to acheive this manually is tedius (below). In addition I would
like to do this several times a day in combination with different "calendar
views" to display only the events in certain catagories occuring over the next
5 weeks, so I could really use a macro.
I have all the ingredients but have not found a way to put them all
together. I have created calendar views which select events (meetings,
appointments) on catergory. This is great.
In addition, I can use month view to display several weeks of events, however
as the current date grows closer to the end of the month, the month view is
less and less practical since is doesnt show enough days into the future (it is
fixated on showing that month and not the more practical next 5 or 6 weeks.)
The latter can be achieved manually by the tedius process below. The question
is how to automate it or incorporate it with a filter-based view? I imagine
there is some sort of visual basic macro that could achieve this but I am not a
VB expert.
Thank you for your consideration
Albert
PS: Here is the way to select the next 5-6 weeks: While in month view
(navigate to calendar and then select View | Month) use the mouse to stretch
the navigation pane
(alt f1) so that the calendar with each day displayed as just a number shows at
least the next two months.
Now using the mouse select the ?week number (1-52) ? to the left of the
current week (with the red box ). Then HOLDING DOWN THE SHIFT KEY , select the
?week number in the next month that is 6 weeks ahead of the current week
number. This shift-click operation will cause the calendar to display 6 weeks
worth of dates starting with the current week.
This is especially helpful when the current date is near the end of the month.
The trouble is when I now select any of my nice catagory-filtering views the
display reverts to the basically useless month view and not the current week +
next 5 weeks view that is much more useful.
Ultimately I want to combine this macro with different filters to display
different categories of appointment and meetings coming up in the next 6 weeks.
