[mso] Re: Desktop shortcuts for Excel workbooks

Mike--

Um, always read before responding; *now* I see that you're asking to
open on a specific sheet. My bad.

The real answer: there is startup switch that will activate a particular
worksheet, which means you're left with one of these options:

1) As Jim Hickey said, save the workbook with the desired sheet active;
the next time you open it, you'll be back on that sheet.

2) Create a sheet activation macro, and call it from the Workbook_Open
event handler.

3) If you're calling Excel from an application which supports Office
automation, you can do a whole bunch of things. Just search the web for
'Microsoft Office Automation'.

Good luck, and sorry for the, uh, premature interjection... ;-)

Subject: [mso] Desktop shortcuts for Excel workbooks

Does anyone know of a way to make a desktop shortcut point directly to a
specific sheet of an Excel workbook? In other words, open the workbook
directly to the desired sheet. Similarly, can this be done via a batch
file? Thanks,

Mike Rubinfeld
