Linda,
Be nice, we don't want to chase away one of our few Access people! lol.
Yes, there are some things that Excel can currenly do better than Access
(although with each new version that is becoming less so) I have used both
and I know when I started at the credit union, I was the Excel guru. Now I
much prefer Access for any type of database like activity. It is just so
much more flexible. As far as Peter's statement, it is true. He just said
that Access does it better, not necessarily easier! :o) Gotta show my
partiality here right?

Oh boy, Peter....you wanna start a war here? LOL
Being an Excel person more than an Access person, I could argue this
point with you. I do NOT believe Access does everything better than
Excel and I have impressed many an Access person with stuff Excel can do
BETTER than Access.
However, in this case, I DO believe what Carol wants to do would be
better accomplished in Access.
However, Excel does have some pretty nifty Advanced Database features,
if you took the time to check them out.

No. Absolutely NOT.
Would you use a graphics program to make a number calculation?
You need a database. Period. Don't even think about it.
Excel is a spreadsheet program. Great for pivot type tables but nothing
= else. Anything Excel can do, Access can do better.
