Oh boy, Peter....you wanna start a war here?  LOL

Being an Excel person more than an Access person, I could argue this
point with you.  I do NOT believe Access does everything better than
Excel and I have impressed many an Access person with stuff Excel can do
BETTER than Access.

However, in this case, I DO believe what Carol wants to do would be
better accomplished in Access.

However, Excel does have some pretty nifty Advanced Database features,
if you took the time to check them out.

Would you use a graphics program to make a number calculation?

You need a database. Period. Don't even think about it.

Excel is a spreadsheet program. Great for pivot type tables but nothing
= else. Anything Excel can do, Access can do better.
